LUKE SEVEREID Returns to Bellingham, Washington for ONE Night ONLY
November 24thth / 7:00 PM
LUKE SEVEREID is a hill-hiking, metal-music-loving, chrome-dome-having stand-up comedian from Seattle, WA. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest with the plaids and IPA-fueled husk to prove it, he has spent the last decade yelling jokes all over the US and Canada, and recently relocated to the East Coast, landing in the sufficiently hilly & silly Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
LUKE’s comedic style has been described as insightfully idiotic, aggressively absurd, and most accurately, unmedicated ADHD in action. Besides looking identical to your favorite bouncer/bass player, Luke was also recently in the Big Sky Comedy Festival, a semifinalist in the Seattle and San Francisco International Comedy Competition, and a winner of Best Comedy Film at HUMP! Film Festival. Millions have enjoyed his stand-up videos online, and no matter who you are or where you’re from, he is GUARANTEED to get a giggle or two out of you.

Q: Is this a Family Friendly Show?
A: Depends how cool your family is. If you're sensitive to adult topics or language, this probably is not the show for you. If you're the type of person who leaves yelp reviews, maybe stay home and think about what you’re ultimately trying to get out of life. Again, google costs none money to use.

Cytrus
with Midpak
Friday, November 29th
Wild Buffalo
8pm doors | 9pm show | 21+
In the world of music, the term “fusion” tends to raise eyebrows. Yet, the sonic explorers of Seattle octuplet Cytrus have spent the last three years crafting a debut that draws deftly from a broad melodic palette, melding distinct stylistic threads into a cohesive creative voice. Relax, and the grooves will flow through your soul. Concentrate, and you’ll find yourself tumbling through an immaculately constructed alternate reality when melody and rhythm dance hand in hand through spacetime.
Shaped by Jared Squires (guitar/vocals), Luke Nevills (bass/keys), Brandon Hailey (saxophone), Owen Mayo (keys/guitar), Trevor Church (drums), Alex Dean (synth/keys), Sean Connelly (vocals/keys), and Connor Merritt (aux percussion), Cytrus mines psychedelic funk, disco, electronic, rock, soul, hip-hop. Flowing through kaleidoscopic transitions, the band’s juicy synths and brass-powered grooves coalesce into an undeniable, hypnotic wall of sound.
Cytrus began when two Everett, WA bands found themselves mixing in the same shared rehearsal space. Finding they shared an ethos and approach to songcraft, Bunk Foss & HopSol merged, and Cytrus was born. The songs on Concentrate arose organically; some grew from sketches crafted by subgroups with the band where were then expanded upon in a full band setting. Others began as purely improvised sessions with the full octet which were later arranged. Yet all ultimately come from the conflux of individuality and collaboration.
Independently recorded at their rehearsal space, and mixed and mastered in-house, Concentrate is in every sense D.I.Y. In addition to the core group, the record features appearances byJason Cressey (trombone), Shyam Sunder Joseph Raja (tablas), and Connor Merritt (didgeridoo). After recording Concentrate, Merritt has joined the band full time as auxiliary percussion player.
Thematically, the record charts the philosophical, emotional journey from darkness to light. Starting from blissful ignorance, we then grapple with a sense of irrelevance when faced with the enormity of reality. Undeterred, we vow to pursue the search for truth and purpose. Finally, at the nexus of spirituality and psychedelics, we find awakening. “Concentrate is a metaphor of the pursuit of happiness/fulfillment, which we all seek in our personal stories of life” explains Squires. “The “Juice” can be found at the end of that path, but many obstacles can and will stand in the way.”
Ultimately, Concentrate is both the culmination of a creative and spiritual journey and the first step on the long road to musical enlightenment. For a young (figuratively and literally) band to create a piece of art of the depth and breadth of Concentrate betrays both boundless dedication and ambition. Yet, the band comes to their work from a place of humility. “We hope this album inspires likeminded creatives to chase their aspirations in the arts” says Squires. “Be it a desire to draw from past bodies of work we admire, or a yearning contribute to the canon, it is all attainable through persistence and creativity.”

Described by NPR Music as joyous folk pop, Kuinka "laces modern folk and Americana with an electronic jolt, waltzing along the grooved edges of dream-pop, synth-pop, and Brooklyn’s mid-aughts guitar-rock revival" (Vanyaland). Their genre-defying music features several different lead singers, four-part harmony, and eclectic instrumentation. For all of their sonic experimentation, the Seattle group's songs and live shows are linked by an infectious energy that remains present in everything they do.

Declared “one of the most remarkable shows in musical theater history” by the Washington Post, Dear Evan Hansen is the first musical to take a groundbreaking look — from the point of view of both the parents and young people — at our complex, interconnected, and social media-filled lives. Evan Hansen is a high school student who always feels like he’s on the outside looking in. He finally gets what so many of us are searching for — the chance to fit in. What follows is a poignant, funny, and powerful musical about how even though high school can be hard, we can find each other — and ourselves — along the way.

Lulo Reinhardt, the grand-nephew of legendary Django Reinhardt, plays Latin Swing music, a combination of Romani Swing with Latin rhythms. Alexandra Whittingham is a dynamic classical guitarist with a repertoire ranging from the classics to contemporary composers. Niwel Tsumbu has kept his unique Congolese percussive style alive over the past 25 years while living in Ireland. Soenke Meinen is a leading contemporary fingerstyle guitarist, mixing the incredible dexterity of his high-speed compositions with sensitive ballads.
Join us in welcoming Ivy Ficarra, Arran Fagan and John Lensing for an evening of wonderful music at the Moon.
"Taking cues from the likes of Leif Vollebekk and Nathaniel Rateliff, Fagan’s music is filled with introspective lyrics, questioning anything from relationships to how much he should be drinking...One of Fagan’s greatest strengths lies in his storytelling, weaving concrete images with more abstract feelings that he somehow aptly describes.”

The audience declares the winner after each comedian performs their very best, tight ten-minute set! Fans of this legendary event agree the semi-finals provide the most entertainment value because there is little difference in the level of talent between those who advance and those who do not. Join us in welcoming Pete Ruble along withJeff Mack for a evening of home grown musical magic. 8pm
“Pete Ruble's music can be found somewhere near the intersection of 1960-70s singer/songwriter and early country western. He draws a lot of inspiration from classic artists like Lee Hazlewood and Bob Dylan, as well as modern performers like Kurt Vile and Jessica Pratt.”
Justin Harden is a 23 year old singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Lake Stevens, Washington. Justin Harden blends his inspirations to create a sound that flows directly from his intimate experiences with life and his relationships with the world around.
His first project, “BADSOUND” was mended in the emotional heat of his bedroom in the summer of 2021. Since then, Justin has been performing his songs playing all over the greater Seattle area, along with writing many more songs.
His debut full length album, “Half Full” is out now.
Fresh off the release of their debut album, Ballads of Mirror Road, Checker Bloom is captivating live audiences with a blend of eclectic, yet cohesive rock sounds. Self described as Cinematic-Western Rock, Checker Bloom sends you on a sonic journey through a desolate wasteland with a diverse range of tracks that defy genre boundaries. From the infectious indie disco of "Who Is Michael" to the cinematic 80s blockbuster film-inspired "Wastelander" and the Eagles-esque harmonies of "Forbidden Love," Checker Bloom's music is both wildly entertaining and thought-provoking.
Finely tuned and sharp after years of touring, Checker Bloom's live show will infect you. They have been sharing the stage with prominent acts like Wine Lips and Petite Amie, and starting to crack onto regional festival circuits. Catch Checker Bloom in one their few hometown shows of the year.
A blended shake of 90’s and 70’s sounds, HoneyWeather will get you through your day with enough energy to wistfully smile and wave at the stranger who clearly had the right of way, but insisted you go first.
Although their first two singles rock cargo shorts, their live sound ranges from moody distorted guitars to soft vistas of psychedelic exploration. While the guitars dance, the bass takes you on a walk through the park where the drums have packed a punch for lunch.
HoneyWeather’s whimsically nervous sound has been described as “Smooth Grunge” by dads across the Pacific NorthWest.
Vitamin String Quartet (VSQ) has been active since 1999 and has played a significant role in making classical crossover popular in contemporary music. They are known for their unforgettable film and TV scores and for helping couples worldwide create their ideal wedding playlist. Fresh from recording the soundtrack to Netflix's Bridgerton, VSQ will perform spellbinding and innovative renditions of Swift’s music, alongside familiar hits from diverse artists like Billie Eilish, BTS, The Weeknd, and Daft Punk.

setting a place for our grief and gratitude for the world
In this embodied grief circle, we’ll name what is present in our hearts and practice giving expression to our grief and gratitude through movement and song. While we're tending a space for our sorrows of the world to be shared and witnessed, all grief is welcome. Our time will include guided meditation, song, small group sharing, and embodied ritual practice.
Guided by Kelsey Maloney and Monika Denise.

Eric Ray and Andrew Principe, together known as EAZYBAKED, have found the perfect equilibrium between genre-bending soundscapes and delightful nostalgia. Their yin-yang-like synchronicity, founded on 15 years of friendship, quickly transformed into a uniquely rebellious, contemplative and explosive sonic identity.
Despite their growing renown in the genre, EAZYBAKED stays close to their original grass-roots philosophy. Their raw, open, and inviting sounds transcend the traditional genre-barriers, creating a lane that is utterly their own. This can be heard clearly in the Duo's debut album INTERTWINED, released in 2022.
EAZYBAKED have supported a wide range of genre leading artists, including GRihk a,àas, Z, Zeds Dead, Rezz, Ganja White Night, and Clozee. They have been booked in a variety of eclectic venues including Red Rocks, in addition to playing sets at high-profile festival sets at EDC Orlando, Electric Forest, Wakaan Festival, Countdown and Okeechobee Music Festival, among others. Most recently, they sold out their biggest headline show to date at Ogden Theatre in Denver, were announced as support for INZO on his 2024 tour and will headline The Untz Festival in May of 2024, in addition to playing Shambhala Festival's 25th anniversary.

Join Bellingham Parks & Recreation for a free presentation with guest speaker Greg Green in the Rotunda Room of Old City Hall.
Take a virtual trip with wildlife ecologist and nature photographer Greg Green as he travels to frozen Japan to photograph Japanese snow macaques bathing and grooming in the hot springs of Honshu and then on to Hokkaido Island where he photographed flights of Japanese Red-crowned Cranes coming in to feed in the mornings, Red Foxes slinking around for mice, Ezo Sika Deer bulls lying about the ocean edge, Blakiston’s Owls catching fish at 3 am and -3 degrees, Whooper Swans concentrating in the warm springs along Lake Kussharo, and Steller and White-tailed Sea Eagles hunting the sea ice packs off shore of Rausu. Japan is truly a land of fire with numerous hot springs called onsens that both humans and wildlife have exploited for thousands of years.
Greg’s presentation will also include a visit to the markets of Tokyo, a detailed discussion of the incredible foods eaten along the way, and the thrill of traveling at 200 mph in a bullet train.
